Mustafa Varank

Varank was born in 1976 in Trabzon, Of. He completed his primary education in Yedikule Primary School and his secondary education in Istanbul Imam Hatip High School. Varank graduated from Middle East Technical University (METU), Department of Political Science and Public Administration in 1999 and went to the USA to continue his education. He studied Network Services Technology at Tallahassee Community College and also served as an expert and researcher at Florida State University. He holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Indiana University, where he also served as a researcher and system administrator at the Indiana University Pervasive Technology Institute, where he conducted research on information technology and innovation.

After abroad education and working life, Varank returned to Turkey in 2005, he was appointed Prime Minister in 2011 and began working in the Prime Minister’s chief adviser to the task. Varank, one of the closest names to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was appointed Chief Advisor to the President in 2014 when Erdoğan was elected president.
